BEN CATLEY - Exmouth welcomes one of Perth’s best solo musicians who delivers nothing short of high energy, gritty acoustic roots and blues.
This being their first time visit to Exmouth , this fierce femme-fatale foursome explode with quirky, blues-fueled songs. Barely three years old, they’ve been making waves on the Australian Festival circuit; having toured the country 9 times, playing St Kilda Festival (Vic); Swagger Festival (VIC) Jungle Love Festival (QLD); Meatstock (VIC, NSW) Mitchell Creek Rock and Blues Festival (QLD); Narooma Blues Festival (NSW); Port Maquarie BBQ n Blues Festival (NSW); Mount Beauty Music Festival (Vic) as well as WA festivals: Nukara, SOTA, WA Pride, Hidden Treasures, Bridgetown Blues, Disconnect, Fairbridge, Wave Rock and Nannup Music Festival.
“For high energy, folk/punk/blues spliced, gutsy and hard hitting music, this is a band you need to see”
Headliner - ‘Blue Shaddy
Our Blues favourites are back again and what better way to see them than in an intimate 35 metre marquee!
Young and old will be stomping their feet to their high energy, powerhouse blues.
One of the busiest bands in Western Australia , if not the whole of Oz, Blue Shaddy formed in 1999. They have independently released four albums and have received national airplay on Triple J.
The group has been showcased in the United States through Tin Records. Blue Shaddy was nominated for the Tin Records 2007 New Music compilation. songwriter and guitarist Jim McClelland, his brother Graham McClelland (harmonica) and Sandra McClelland (bass guitarist and wife of Jim) were born and bred in Western Australia's remote wheat belt, which has had a strong influence on their music, especially songs such as "Don't wanna die here" and "People talk".
Having lived in the city of Perth for some 14 years and meeting band members, Malaysian born Arun Satgunasingam (drummer and percussionist) and percussionist Sri Lankan born Kanchana Karunaratna, the band has been exposed to new influences which leads to what Blue Shaddy are today.
Bring it on! Welcome back Shaddies.
